Indianes 2.0 / Jaume Martínez

Jaume Martínez / ESDAP Catalunya / Campus Llotja

The Indianes 2.0 project offers an alternative pattern printing system that comprises different parts printed in 3D, which are combined to form two tools that allow users to swiftly and attractively decorate smooth surfaces with a broad range of combinations of colours and shapes.

This proposal draws from a long tradition in the textile industry and is based on patterns that once prompted a complete change of lifestyle in Catalonia: chintz.

Based on FDM printing technology, this series paves the way for new types of patterns with organic and partially spontaneous textures, which here have been applied on wooden panels and some types of square and curved profiles, using the two rollers from which the tool is made.
