The female body has always been the object of aesthetic oppression and, specifically, breasts have been subject to most physical manipulation. This is still the case even now, in the twenty-first century, transcending physical reality through censorship in the media. This project therefore focuses on the female nipple. The role of the female nipple and the reason why it is treated differently from the male nipple have recently been questioned. Its censorship, sexualisation and systematic stigmatization are now subjects of debate.

Through clothing conceived as a tool for artistic expression, the project is intended to assist the network of artists who are working on this issue. It refers both to the Free The Nipple movement, established in 2012 by the activist and filmmaker Lina Esco, and to its preceding history, and to the right to decide about our own bodies and to freedom of expression, to its perception free of sexual interest and representative of a hitherto unpresented diversity. The collection is displayed as a narrative in which each perspective appears in the spotlight. It begins with a critical historical retrospective of the treatment received by the breast (and nipple) that has continued to the present day through the #freethenipple movement. Once in the present, a series of questions without a given or correct answer are then raised in order to encourage debate among the public. Finally, the collective struggle is raised from a perspective of sisterhood. This all involves experimentation with natural latex.
